   🌈  CURCUBEU SCHOOL

Bună! 😉

We would like to share with you our good moments in Curcubeu the place in which we like to help and learn.

At half past nine every moornings we are in Curcubeu kindergarden with the youngest children. Since one month and a half we were meeting the children step by step, but from the first moment we felt very welcomed and connected with them. Everyday they receive us with their beautiful and big smiles.

During this time we try to help them improving their knowledge and at the same time they try to teach us new romanian words. Until now we have had many opportunities to share some activities like draw, sing, dance, gymnastic and we can play all together even if we are not able to speak the same language (yet).

The funniest part of this project is to discover how clever they are and they surprise us with ingenious ideas every days.

In the afternoon three of us return again for the after-school activities. We work in three differents classes. The first one with children between 7 and 8, the second between 8 and 9, and the last between 10 until 11. We help them to do their homerworks, teach them Europe, our own language, origami, handmades and play with them in the playground. They are very curious and they are open minded to learn new things.

For now we are teaching them Christmas carols and we would like to create with them a Christmas tree with recycle materials... To be continued😊

Getting use to the romenian language

The first time I thought in doing an EVS volunteering the idea of learning a new language was one of the main attractions and reasons to join this experience. How you pretend to life in a foreign country for a long period of time without wanting to learn their language and communicate with the locals. Even when almost every romanian person that I know has the skill to talk in more than one language from English to Spanish, they are really good with the languages. Also, the more languages you know the best for you professional and personal life. However with the children it is completely another story. The first time I worked with the kids I felt completely useless because I could not communicate or help them. In the past, from my priori work volunteering I was able to explain the subject we were talking about, to express myself, un general to be capable of make a bound with the children and the teenagers trough the words. So at first I saw this like a handicap making my task...
